Circular economy

At Sekurit Partner, we're committed to sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint. We believe in the importance of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and its role in promoting sustainable practices. Our aim is to recycle 100% of glass waste and work towards reducing our environmental impact.

What is a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)?

Life Cycle Assessment is a standardized evaluation method used to carry out a multi-criteria, multi-stage environmental assessment of a system or product over its entire life cycle, based on the international standard ISO 14025. At Sekurit Partner, we recognize the importance of Life Cycle Assessment in promoting sustainable practices and reducing our environmental impact.

As the challenges of mobility continue to evolve, we're committed to understanding and addressing our environmental responsibilities at every stage of the value chain. As part of our sustainable development approach, we've identified our main impacts and defined priority action levers to address them.

Together with our partners, we've carried out a LCA of the glazing products that we're installing in our fitting stations in 2022. By conducting a thorough environmental assessment, we can ensure that our products and practices meet the highest sustainability standards. We're dedicated to promoting sustainable practices and reducing our environmental impact, and we believe that Life Cycle Assessment is an essential tool for achieving these goals.

Act to reintroduce 100% of broken glass into glass production

At Sekurit Partner, we're committed to measuring the carbon footprint of our activity, including our supply chain. By distinguishing the most carbon-emitting sources, we can efficiently target action levers to reduce our impact on the environment and develop a circular economy.

Our 791 Sekurit Partner fitting stations are dedicated to helping drivers experiencing glazing damage, fixing it up, and collecting damaged glazing pieces. With a strong focus on recycling materials, we aim to complete the loop, enabling broken glass to become new glass. As experts in glass and acting from sand to hand, we're the first link in the recycling chain and ensure that the glazing is properly sorted and that we choose reliable and competent partners to clean and process it to recover its various components.

We also make sure to properly handle all plastic packaging that can be reused or recycled, as well as the treatment of hazardous waste such as glue and primer. Our aim is to make the most of all our waste, which is a real resource, and ensure that 100% of our glass waste is sorted, collected, and recycled into glass products, in collaboration with our partners. By promoting a circular economy and maximizing the use of our resources, we can work towards a more sustainable future and reduce our impact on the environment.

Did you know?

At Sekurit Partner, we're committed to promoting glass recycling as a key part of our sustainability efforts. When pieces of broken glass, called cullet, are reintroduced into a glass furnace, it can save up to 300 kg of CO2 per ton reintroduced and 850 kg of sand. This is because less energy is required to melt cullet than raw materials, resulting in significant carbon and resource savings.

Cullet from automotive glazing can be transformed into various products, including flat glass, glass wool used for building insulation, and hollow glass for bottles. By promoting glass recycling, we're able to reduce our environmental impact and promote a circular and less carbon-intensive economy.

We believe that glass recycling is an essential part of promoting sustainability, and we're committed to encouraging simple acts of sorting and recycling to make a positive impact. By promoting a circular economy and maximizing the use of our resources, we can work towards a more sustainable future and reduce our impact on the environment.

We aim to have 100% of glass waste collected by service providers and properly recycled into glass products.

At Sekurit Partner, we're committed to sorting and recycling hazardous waste in specialized channels for 100% of our fitting stations. We recognize the importance of properly handling hazardous waste and ensuring that it's recycled in a responsible and sustainable manner.

In the same spirit of waste reduction, we also work with windshield suppliers committed to reducing the amount of packaging used in their products. Additionally, we've set a goal of recovering 100% of packaging by 2023. By working towards this goal, we can reduce our environmental impact and promote a more sustainable future.

At Sekurit Partner, we believe that responsible waste management is an essential part of promoting sustainability. By properly handling hazardous waste and reducing packaging waste, we can work towards a more responsible and sustainable business that benefits everyone involved.

Sekurit Partner on the road to circular economy

At Sekurit Partner, we're committed to promoting sustainability throughout our entire supply chain, from flat glass suppliers to our logistics partners and fitting stations. Here are some of the ways we're working towards a more sustainable future:

FLAT GLASS: We favor suppliers who use flat glass with a high rate of recycled content, as this is a key lever to reduce the carbon footprint of windshields.

WINDSHIELD PRODUCTION: We work with local suppliers who operate performant and low-carbon factories.

TRANSPORTATION: Our logistics partners are committed to using cleaner vehicle fleets to transport our products.

DISTRIBUTION: Our partner's central warehouse produces its own energy from renewable sources, including a wind turbine.

LAST MILE DELIVERY: We optimize our last-mile delivery and prioritize low-carbon logistics.

SEKURIT PARTNER FITTING STATIONS: We sort our waste into a minimum of four streams, including glass products, chemicals, plastics, and cardboard, which are managed by our partners. By promoting sustainability throughout our supply chain, we can work towards a more responsible and sustainable business that benefits everyone involved.
